I've been watching these contests for a long time. They are crazy and fun, but now and again, I see some things that impress me. I'm going to discuss the most recent Easter contest but I am writing because I'm inspired by what I've seen contest after contest for YEARS!
There are always 2 contests: most collected and unique customers.
The Unique Customers was created a few years back because models and customers complained that a "most collected" only contest was not fair. A billionaire could buy a contest for their favorite model. It became a contest of wealth instead of popularity. They even made a rule that a model must work 20 hours during the course of the contest. They couldn't just show up for 10 minutes, receive 10,000 eggs and vanish.
I've always kept an eye on the Unique Customers contest and this year's Easter contest lent an interesting result.
I always look for models who placed in BOTH contests. They only win "most collected" if they've inspired loyalty in their fans. They win "unique customers" if they have a good strategy, marketing system and sales skill. If they both inspire and close sales, that's something special. One strategy the models employ to win the Unique Customer's contest is called "trading." They send their fans to give an egg to another model (usually of the other gender) in exchange for that other model sending one of their customers back. They "trade" unique customers.
This year there were 3 models who won in both Most Collected and Unique Customers:
Keith Atkins (2nd & 8th)
Emilio Reynolds (3rd & 6th)
Roan Birkin (9th & 4th)
All three models received Top 5 in one category. Places 6th - 10th only receive $100. 1st - 5th receive bigger cash prizes.
Getting Top 5 in either category AND winning in both is quite impressive.
Keith has been a consistent work horse on Flirt. His sheer determination and willingness to do the job, both showing up and being fully engaged while on the job, for years on end is absolutely impressive. He has certainly earned loyal fans and has placed himself on the top of the model list for long enough, everyone has probably visited him and given him at least 1 tip.
Emilio Reynolds is new. I honestly don't know much about him. He's a
belami and has clearly done well for himself. If he sticks to it, he will be a model to be reckoned with.
belami is not in the business of picking losers. If you look at who won this contest, it was certainly
belami studios. Congratulations to Emilio. Keep rising!
This brings us to Roan Birkin. Currently on Team Blue in Belami, Roan has done something very interesting and frankly the thing that inspired me to write this. He's a veteran on this site. Though he hasn't been on as long as Keith, he knows the guts of this job. During this contest he spent the first several days coordinating his fans to send an egg to the newer Belamis, some on Team Blue and some not. The ones who ranked in the lower levels of the Unique Customers contest (6th-10th) were assisted by Roan using his energy during the first several days to help them place. He even helped Hunter Bridges who placed 3rd in Uniques 1 spot above Roan.
He showed both leadership for his team and his studio leading by example and being one of 3 to win both sides of this contest. He was self-sacrificing as he could have earned more eggs early on and possibly gotten into the Top 5 in Most collected. He showed himself a team player and super cooperator by using his popularity to help other models.
Izzi, while not a big participant in this contest, has also used his popularity to help other models a lot in the past. He deserves a shout out!
If there were a 3rd category for "Fan Sharing" then Roan would have been #1 in that category for this contest.
As I said previously, this is an analysis of the Easter contest but I've seen this type of thing contest after contest and year after year. All these guys are endearing, hardworking/smart-working and self-sacrificing. A lot of people who didn't win have these qualities too.
I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Keith, Emilio and especially Roan Birkin as the best of the best.
